College Football Transfer Portal: A Recap of the Winter Window

College football is rapidly changing, resembling the NFL more and more. The winter transfer portal window is essentially the first phase of free agency in this evolving landscape. This 20-day period, ending on Dec. 28, has become crucial for teams to replenish their rosters after the early signing period (Dec. 4-6). Let’s take a closer look at how teams in Florida – USF, Florida, FSU, and Miami – fared during this window. Keep in mind that the status of each team could still change when the portal reopens in the spring from April 16-25.
