Jonathan Aranda hit a two-run homer in the 10th inning to secure a victory for the Rays over the Yankees, ending a losing streak.
Aranda, who appeared injured earlier in the game, led off the 10th with a homer to right with a runner on second base.
The Rays were down 6-1 in the fourth inning and 8-4 in the ninth before making a comeback.
Shortstop Jose Caballero made a spectacular play in the first inning, but the highlight shifted to the ninth inning rally off Yankees closer Devin Williams.
After being down 8-4 with one out, the Rays staged a comeback with key hits from Caballero, Simpson, Diaz, and Lowe.
Starting pitcher Shane Baz struggled, giving up five runs before being replaced in the fourth inning.
The Rays ended a 17-inning scoreless streak and added three runs in the fourth inning with a strong offensive performance.
The Yankees capitalized on Baz’s struggles, scoring early and adding more runs in the second and fourth innings.
