TAMPA — Lightning Holds Off Islanders’ Comeback in 5-3 Victory

The Lightning established a three-goal lead in the first period, with Kucherov and Perbix contributing to the scoreline. Kucherov assisted on both of Point’s goals, showcasing his playmaking skills.

Despite their lead, the Lightning’s coach, Jon Cooper, acknowledged that they may not have deserved it based on their performance.

The Islanders had multiple scoring opportunities, but Johansson’s exceptional goaltending kept them off the scoreboard.

Holding Off a Comeback

Despite the pressure, the Lightning managed to secure the win, with Kucherov assisting on the final goal to seal the victory.

Conclusion

The Lightning’s victory over the Islanders showcased their ability to withstand pressure and secure important wins. While they faced challenges in the third period, they ultimately came out on top, extending their winning streak in the process.
