The story of Jacquez Welch, a young athlete who tragically passed away but went on to save lives through organ donation, continues to inspire and impact many. After his death from a rare condition in 2019, Jacquez’s organs saved four lives and enhanced 71 others through tissue donation.
Jacquez’s legacy will be honored at an upcoming USF spring intrasquad game, highlighting the importance of organ donation. His mother, Marcia Welch, will receive a game ball in his memory, showcasing the lasting impact of his generosity.
By registering as an organ donor, individuals can make a difference regardless of age or driver’s license status. Jacquez’s story has led to a significant increase in organ-donor registration, emphasizing the power of one person to bring about positive change.
