Construction Progress Update on USF’s On-Campus Football Stadium
Five months after the groundbreaking ceremony for USF’s on-campus football stadium, progress is finally being made on the actual construction. Athletic director Michael Kelly provided an update on the project, indicating that Manhattan Construction, one of the firms overseeing the project, has been on campus preparing for construction to commence.
Manhattan Construction has set up an on-site compound near Sycamore Drive on the eastern edge of the campus. Kelly mentioned that the firm is ready to start construction in the next few weeks as scheduled.
With the firm’s on-site compound set up, parking spaces on Sycamore Drive have been affected. The street may become one-way soon to accommodate the delivery of building materials.

Manhattan, H.J. Russell & Company, and DuCon, LLC are leading the project, which was initially estimated to cost $340 million. DuCon, a local partner, is part of the joint venture.
