TAMPA — Freshman Center Graham Barton Making Waves in NFL
Bucs rookie center Graham Barton was thrown into the NFL fray on a humid Sunday in September. Facing seasoned veterans like Commanders tackles Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne, and linebacker Bobby Wagner, Barton had to prove his worth right out of the gate. In his debut game, Barton held his own, with zero penalties, zero sacks allowed, and only two quarterback pressures in a Bucs victory.
Fast forward four months, and Barton’s growth is evident. His performance has helped revitalize the Bucs’ running game, now ranked fourth in the league. Despite some initial nerves, Barton has settled into his role and shown significant improvement.
Despite his success, Barton remains critical of his own performance. With 13 penalties on his record, Barton acknowledges his need for improvement. However, his growth throughout the season is evident, and he is becoming more comfortable in his role as the Bucs head into the playoffs.
As Barton prepares for the playoffs, he faces new challenges and fresh opponents. The Commanders have evolved since their last meeting, and Barton must continue to adapt and improve to help his team succeed. With his determination and work ethic, Barton is poised to make a significant impact as the Bucs chase a playoff run.
